Cannot add yahoo email to new iPad mini just purchased

Just bought new iPad mini today...cannot get it to accept yahoo e mail. Get message that server is unavailable.

You should be able to as Yahoo is a Native email to the Native email app. Just add the proper email address and password and it should work fine.
