Can I receive messages on my ipod touch if I left my iphone at home and it is turned off?

I went to school and grabbed what I thought was my iphone but it was my ipod touch. The phone has died. can I still get messages on my ipod?

You cannot receive messages of any kind while the device is powered off, however, iMessages 'may' get delivered to the device after it powers on. In regard to the iPod Touch, yes, as long as it's connected to the Internet.

If they're sending texts though iMessage (the sender also has to have iMessage) and you've set up iMessage with the same Apple ID then yes. But your normal texts that go through your cell phone carrier will only be delivered to your phone.
