Can Game Center restore my game progress on a new iPad? How do I get it to work?

My old iPad drowned in a car flood. I was on level 149 in G5's Secret Society. I have loaded the game onto a new iPad through the Game Center, but the game will not load my progress. Game Center shows all my achievements but they aren't translating into the game. How can I make it restore my progress?
