Hi everyone!

With filter bubbles and fake news becoming more and more of a problem, I've been working on a solution for reddit. And what do you know, I've just released it for iPhone today!

It works like this: for every post in your feed, Burst finds everywhere it's been reposted across every subreddit. The comments from all those duplicate posts are merged together into a single comment stream.

That means for political posts, you see comments from r/politics, r/liberal, r/conservative and so on. That way you're seeing a little taste from those other subreddits to help you get a feel for how other people are reacting to the same story. In my own use of Burst while testing, I've found that even though I see a lot more stuff I don't agree with, seeing it helps me empathise with other perspectives. It's my hope that this will help tone down some of the more toxic aspects of political discussion online.

Outside of political stuff, this mechanic turns out to be super helpful for everyday posts. For example, a post about the new iPhone might be posted to r/iphone, r/apple, r/technology and maybe even r/android. At the end of the day, they're all pretty similar communities so getting all those comments in one place makes it feel like you're getting a more "complete" version of reddit. Whenever I switch back to another reddit app I now feel like I might be missing something.

Anyway, that's the basic rundown. I'd love to hear any feedback you have!
