applecare+ for the 11 pro

So I just preordered and got the applecare+ for the iPhone 11 pro. It's 9.99 per month until cancelled. My complant is that I'm paying 14.99 for the applecare for the XS. I just spoke to support on the phone and they have no intention of lowering the cost of applecare for the XS. It makes no sense to me, the coverage is the same, I'm not upset that I pais 50% more for the last year, but not to equal out the price starting next year is a joke.

Look at it this way. You're paying $5 less a month for protection for your new iPhone 11 Pro. The Apple Care Plus agreement you signed with your iPhone XS is a done deal and is for a different iPhone.

the iphone 11 pro also has an option to pay 15 a month that includes theft protection. I am not sure but was that not also the case last year?

It's not the same. You're likely paying $14.99 for the theft/loss inclusion. The $9.99 option doesn't include that. If you want the theft/loss protection, upgrade your current AppleCare+ subscription to the $14.99 one.
