How to make Siri tell me what song I'm playing on Bluetooth?

My car doesn't have a Bluetooth capable stereo, so I added a Bluetooth to Aux-In adapter to add Bluetooth. The problem with this is that I don't have a display where I can see the name of the song and artist I'm playing. I'm just using the Music app to play MP3s on my phone. My plan was to just ask Siri "what song is this", which I tested out before buying the Bluetooth. The problem is that Siri now tells me that she can't identify songs when connected to Bluetooth! Does anyone know a way around this? I'm wondering if she thinks I want her to listen to the song and try to identify it using the built in Shazam functionality. I don't want that, I just want her to read me the artist and song stored in the MP3 file I'm playing. Any suggestions on how I can do this?
