Unlocking iPhone 5

Hi guys, I recently emigrated from Ireland to Australia, my IPhone 5 is locked to 3 network Ireland,
I've contacted carriers here in Australia, none are accommodating, Help

What was your contract status with 3Network?? Were you out of contract? Did you pay a termination fee? If the answer to either of those questions is "Yes"... they may be in a position to unlock it for you... otherwise - google "iPhone5 unlocking" - you'll find options.

Thanks !! 3 Ireland aren't very nice to deal with, carriers here in Australia aren't interested in overseas handsets,
Is jailbreaking a good idea ???

If you're into all the tweaks and things jailbreaking can accomplish... unlocking and jailbreaking are unique operations... one does not need to jailbreak to unlock.
