Resetting Settings

I was reading on Navigon's new GPS update that there may be a fix for the lost GPS signal those of us on Verizon experience. It says to do a back up, then go into the settings, general and reset. This may be a dumb question, but this will not effect my JB will it? The only way to do that is to update the FW on the phone, correct? Thanks in advance!

Don't ever do this on a jb iPhone. I did it by mistake on my Spiritjb and had to do a full restore.
