NEWBIE: Thinking about JBing my Iphone

I'm on the fence about jailbreaking my iphone, leaning towards doing it but still have some questions.

If I jailbreak my Iphone and i brick the iphone in the process of Jailbreaking it or even after jailbreaking it, will i be able to restore it back?

Any bad side effects of jailbreaking to my phone? ie slows the iphone down, shorter battery life.. etc

Any kind of help is appreciated, I just don't want to regret jailbreaking my phone.

To make this all simple... just do it. If you ever want to get it back to normal a simple restore via iTunes will get you back up and running.

Am I saying you won't have issues? No, because we all know with hacking phones that sometimes issues arise. But again all can be solved with a restore for the most part.
