How to get itunes to not download every new app?

I hate that itunes now downloads every new app I download, even if I delete it before I sync. How can I stop this and just transfer purchase on my phone as I want too?

If your computer's iTunes app is auto-downloading the apps then fire up the iTunes app on your computer, go to the app's preferences and then select "Store" and then uncheck the box for apps where it says automatic downloads.

If your iPhone or iPad is auto-downloading apps, go to Settings/Store from your i-device(s) and then turn off Apps under the Automatic Downloads section.
