App will not update or allow deletion

Twitter app will not update. How can I delete existing app on phone and reload ? Not allowing deletion via touchscreen.

Enable the toggle next to "Deleting Apps" in the Restriction settings, if you have access to those settings.

I had a similar problem with Twitter on my iPad some months back. It refused to update no matter what I did. I also couldn't delete it directly from my screen. If memory serves me correctly, I had to sync my iPad to iTunes on my computer to get rid of it. Maybe give that a try if Just_Me_D's solution doesn't work?

Also try Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > under Storage tap Manage Storage. Tap on the app you wish to delete and you should see a Delete option at the bottom.
