Hello iOS-ers. Been on iOS since Christmas and received my 6s+ today. Yah! This is my first non android, non, Palm/webos smartphone. I have question I can't seem to find on the forums. I am on my device at this time.

I noticed that when I take a picture it does not take the full screen. I figured it was to allow space for the options and other stuff Apple has on screen. So I went to my computer and looked at my pics via Amazon Photos. And I was surprised to see that the picture still did not take the whole screen. Also, via my smart TV they are narrower than my Note 4. I guess the ratio is different than on Android? Is there a way to change the ratio in camera settings.

Thank you in advanced for your help.

Hi! As far as I know, the stock camera only has 2 aspect ratio Settings. The one that says Photo and the square. There are 3rd party camera apps that offer more size options. My favorite is ProCamera + HDR.
ProCamera + HDR, Photo Editing, Custom Filters, Effects and Video by Cocologics

Here's the difference:

Me too. I just did a test with my Note 4 to try and mimic the iPhone ratio. On the Note 4 I can change it from a 16:9 ratio (full screen) to 4:3 ratio (not full screen) and it looks just like my iPhone. No biggie. Just a little difference I have to get used to.

There's apps for that! Lol And you can adjust the aspect ratio in the photos app editing feature. That hasn't been mentioned here.

Here's the thing about the iPhone photo size. It includes everything the 9x16 aspect ratio includes, and then some on the sides. Full screen shots are just zoomed up more. Take a look at these 2 shots. The fat one is the iPhone stock camera app. The other is a full screen shot with ProCamera.

Compare closely.

Stock camera:

ProCamera:

Both have good resolution. And the stock camera shot includes more of the subject than the full screen shot.
