Why can't I add my Outlook account to my iPhone 5c?

Cannot add myoutlook account to iphone 5c

I have gone to settings and mail and outlook and provided the necessary information many times but iphone cannot verify account. I tried exchange and the same thing occurs. Does anyone have an answer? Thanks. Don

Do you have two-step authorization set for the Outlook.com account? If so, you need to have the verification code sent to the device. Alternatively, you can login to your Outlook.com account to disable the two-step verification process and then set up the email account on your iPhone 5C.
