Contacts question

I tried searching but I was having difficulty finding a specific answer. I just purchased a 4S for my fianc? and they transferred her contacts from her old iPhone in store. Then when she synced it with iTunes it added them again, and she now has 2 copies of each contact in her address book. How do I fix it so each contact is only listed once?

If I'm not mistaken, she can logon to iCloud from a PC or Mac and then open the address book online and I think there is a merge option. I'm not at my MacBook so I can't verify it. Also, if she has more than 1 email account on the device, go to Settings-Mail, Contact, Calendars and the select each mail account individually and uncheck the address book with the exception of the one she'll be using as the primary. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful at this time.

I don't see a merge option but she can mass delete the doubles on the site instead of one at a time on her phone and then sync with the cloud, so you were helpful. Thanks!
