sound cutting in and out

When I'm on hold, the sound cuts in and out and is very scratchy.................It's fine when I'm actually talking with someone, but everytime I'm on hold it's terrible. This just happened when I was on hold with different stores. (Trying to find a certain gift.)

Has to be a landline issue with the hold process or it should be all the time you'd think .... Seen this landline to landline before

I've had this issue, but only when on hold with Sprint, so I had to conclude it's on their end. Never happens with my doc's office.
