Why is my iPhone 4 muted?

why is my iphone 4 muted

My iphone 4S stopped ringing and only lights up when I receive a text or phone call. The alarm still works, so I know it's not the speakers. The side switch is not on silent mode, the ringer volume is up, and my "do not disturb" is not activated. My software is up to date. Any ideas? Thanks

Have you tried rebooting the device? Are you sure its not in DND mode?

Do a Hard Reset and your issue should resolve itself
