Swap or send back to fix?

Question for any of you that had repairs. My wife's phone won't hold a charge. With no use, it lasts for maybe 1/2 a day or less. AppleCare is good til 3/2011 so if I take it to the store, will they swap it out or will they take it and send it someplace for a battery replacement, and my wife won't have a phone for a few weeks (assume it takes them a few weeks for repair).

If it's AppleCare, they'll swap it on the spot. I assume when you say store, you mean the Apple store?

The offical Apple store or an authorized reseller

If its the latter, then it should have this in the store's window

Take it to an applestore, they'll swap it out no problems. Just had my phone swapped for a faulty home button. Took five minutes.

Yep, I meant the Apple Store. Thanks guys! Will take it by there this weekend. Wife just didn't want to be w/o a phone for xmas.
