No auto-lock when sms tread is open

I have auto-lock set to the default 1 minute. I notice that if I have a SMS thread open, phone does not auto-lock. is this normal?

Just tried it and mine auto-locks after 1 minute. So, I would say this is not normal.

Just did a hard reset and it is working like normal now. I know this has happened yesterday and I had reboot, but didn't pay attention if it had happened again. Now that I know it is happening, I can keep a better eye on it.
