Problems upgrading to 3.1 - Carrier Logo?

I upgrade my Iphone 3G to the 3.1 firmware. Then, the carrier name becomes a chinese char.

Does anybody have any idea?

That's odd. Are you unlocked?

Yes.. I?m brazilian, and here, the cell phones can?t be seel locked.. They are all unlocked at the moment of the buy.

Not sure what could be causing that. Maybe restore the phone?
