Push Notifications Not Working

I have an iphone 4s with Sprint. Along with imessage not working, my push notifications aren't working for almost every app e.g. facebook, scorecenter, news alerts (fox, usa today). Words with friends won't work at all either. When I bring it up it gives me the push notifications ability/message and when I press "ok" it just pops up again and again.
I have done a soft reset on my phone but it hasn't helped. Anyone else having these problems? I am holding off to do an entire restore but it might have to come to that.

uh yeah, i would just do a restore and as new, do not want to use a backup in fear of bringing pre existing problems over to the new install
