No more iPhone - how to disable iMessage properly?
So, I've just gotten a non-Apple phone for the first time in four years, and wish to use it as my primary phone, at least in the short term.
I recall a bug being present that resulted in people not receiving messages from contacts who had previously received iMessages, and I'm wanting to avoid this as much as possible. Is there a certain way to ensure that all messages are coming through as SMS?
Alternatively, would there be a way to forward iMessages received by email or something? I'm happy to jailbreak my device, if requried. - 02-18-2013, 09:21 AM #2

Logout of iMessages on your Apple devices and then reset the device as new. If your phone number will remain the same, your text message will arrive via SMS to your non-Apple device.
