if i upload 15GB of photos etc, what would happen to my files if I didn't renew my iCloud service?

Planning to get 20gb icloud storage. My main question is if i uploaded let say 15gb of photos etc, what will happen to my files if i dont renew my icloud service? Will my files disappear?

I'm sure you would get a warning, but you should read the fine print before you sign on the dotted line.

I prefer using Box and OneDrive for storage of photos. It gets them off the phone's storage and I can view them at any time on my phone. And it doesn't take iCloud space.
