Lens adapter goes in the camera cutout in the backplate. So yes, you will need the backplate to use the lenses.

I really really want to buy this case but there are so many complaints about the buttons and some people are getting cases from rhinoshield where the bottom doesn’t even sit flush, saggy case near the port. How do the buttons feel to you?

Mine is rather saggy on bottom by charge port. Evidently that’s a common issue?

I think it might be. I’ve had the sag since the first install

Mine isn’t as bad as some cases I’ve had and seen but sinking ~$75 into a case and accessories makes it hard(zero) to accept.

I hear ya on that. I rarely even pay attention to it. Mine is fairly noticeable.
