I'm unable to put contacts into favorites... why?

New to me as of yesterday & trying to transfer names & numbers from contacts to favorites. When I attempt nothing happens. Did I accidently turn something off ?

Welcome to iMore.

Go to Contacts and tap on the Contact you want to add to Favorites. Then hit Add To Favorites and when the menu pops up just touch the number, Facetime or Facetime Audio you want to add. It will then be added to your Favorites list.

Or tap the + in the upper right corner of favorites.

Then tap on the contact:

Then choose which to add.
