Not sure about the formats, but the 3G will receive video, I have received 3gp video on my 3G.

you should also be able to send videos via Forwarding...

MMs messaging usually doesn't apply to pictures, it applies to any "MultiMedia" messages. you should be able to send video, pictures, AND sound clips - while also being able to receive the same.
