Unless the battery is damaged or has become faulty, try charging the device with it powered off, with a genuine Apple charging cable via a good and operable power outlet.

Could be a number of things: your cable, your outlet, your power source, your phone. Have you done basic troubleshooting like trying a different cable, outlet or power source? Eliminating variables is the quickest way to get to the source of the problem and then we can help you from there.

Is it charging for sure? Do you see the charge indicator? One thing that happens is that lint gets built up and compacted in the charge port and then the phone won't charge even if it looks like the cable is plugged in all the way. You have to carefully clean the lint out in that case.
