Where is icon button to connect to internet

Really simple question , I have set my iPhone up to connect thru my wifi and it connects when is ask Siri but I cannot find an icon to connect on my desktop, also how do you turn data off when you only want to use wifi

Welcome to iMore! There is no button on your home screen but if you to go Settings > Wi-Fi you can manage your wifi networks. Known networks should connect automatically when you're in range as long as you have wifi turned on. There's no need to turn data off when you're connected to wifi. It shouldn't be using cellular data at that point unless your wifi connection is weak.

In addition to what Rob has stated, simply swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone's screen to reveal the Control Center as depicted in the attached screenshot.
