How do I by pass the apple I.D. and password on a I-Pad that is locked

I recently got a I-Pad from a family member that recently passed away., I do not know Her Apple account and/or password's? is this device still worth keeping ? is there a way to by-pass the Apple account and password ?! thank

Welcome to iMore! The only way into that iPad is with the Apple ID and password that is associated with it. There is literally no way around this. Sorry for your loss, and for the bad news about the iPad.
