How do I empty the emal trash?

Having trouble emptying trash du to phone shutting off and keeps reloading the trash.

Welcome to iMore! I'm not sure why your phone is shutting off but, depending on your email provider, it may be easier to just use their web site. For example, go to www.gmail.com using a web browser if you have Gmail.

Are you saying that the phone shuts off (powers down) every time you try to empty the email trash bin or are you saying the Mail app shuts down/crashes when trying to empty the email trash bin? If the latter, try deleting the email account from your device and then re-configure it. If the former, you might want to restore your device and set it up as new or make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store.

I had Junk mail that kept coming back. Just would not delete. I had to go to my Gmail account in my Safari browser and delete it there. Works like a charm. That hasn't happened in a long time.
