Can you turn off the contact bubbles on the text message screen?

i just upgraded to the 6+ and when I open my text message screen, it shows little grey bubbles beside every name. Is there a way to turn that off? I have the one in app switcher turned off.

Not that I am aware of. Of course, there is also a plethora of comments from people asking how to get those little bubbles, too. So there's that - proof that you can't please everybody all the time. SMH
