Why does my msg app not open?

why does my msg app not open?

I tap on the msg app to get/send texts, it opens for less than a second to a white screen then immediately closes.

Some sort of glitch in the IOS or app... reboot the device and see if that helps... if it doesn't, consider restoring the iOS via iTunes.
