how do you get talking books feature on iphone 6?

I went to settings and turned on speak screen in settings, and then swiped down on book page. I finally got it to start speaking and got the controls with speed etc. Then I mistakenly tapped the x close controls (instead of collapse controls) and now I cant get it back. Swiping just highlights, and if I hit speak, speaks only the highlights. Everything is still correct in settings.

How are you reading the book? Via Kindle app, Nook app, iBooks or what? Check the app's settings for a audible option.
