Why aren't iBooks on my iPad syncing with my Macbook Pro?

ibooks on iPad not synching with macbook pro

When i added PDF's to my ibooks on my iPad, only the titles of the folders are transferred over to ibooks on my macbook pro, but the PDF's are not?? Can anyone help me understand this? I have contacted apple support, but they were utterly useless.
