Why does a new recurring event get added to dates in the past?

When I add a new recurring event it adds the event to the start date and then shows repeating daily, which is great, but it also goes back in time and adds it daily to each day in the past. So f I were to use this calendar to find out what day I started a particular event, I wouldnt be able to tell.

Hmmm... It shouldn't go back in time. I'm not sure why it's happening to you. You may want to double check the start date. I've made errors like that before.
