Will this phone work in the Philippines?

If I buy this sim free phone in the US and I use a sim from another country (Philippines), will I be able to use the phone or it still needs to be configured?

Yes, it will work...you arrange for service with a provider...they give you a sim to put in the phone...you turn it on...it activates...you proceed with device set-up...
