Why is my iPad1 doing this..???

Why is my iPad 1 saying it's charging when you put a charger in but then doesn't acually charge at all???
PLEASE HELP!!!

Are you using the original power supply or aftermarket? It could be a defective power supply... or if aftermarket, one that does not supply enough amperage to charge the iPad... it could also be an indication there's a hardware issue with the iPad.
