Hey everyone, this is not a need help question.
But I am curious on your thoughts. I inadvertently deleted 53 MP3 files on Amazon.
I think, no worries. I'll go into the deleted file folder and recover the files.
Turns out the latest update to the Amazon MP3 site included removing that folder, per request of several customers.
She gave me some story about it having to do with the import limitations.
Amazon only allows 250 songs to be imported from other sources.
She went on to say if the deleted folder has files in it, than it counts towards your allotment.
I tried to explain to her nicely how ridiculous that statement is.
Anybody knows if you permanently delete your trash, that frees up your import allowance.
She says that is correct, ok. So why was the folder removed?
If you do what I did, you're sunk because you have to call customer service to get your files back.
And I found it hard to believe that people would request to have a deleted items folder removed.
That would be like Dropbox or some other cloud storage removing their trash folder after an update.
People do it all the time, delete a file and say, whoops.
Anyhow, she was nice about it and restored my library.
But I am stilling scratching my head over this.
So beware, if you're an Amazon MP3 user. Be very careful what you delete from your library, it's a permanent solution to a temporary oversight.
