How can I fix a no SIM card error?

my i phone says no sim card installed insert a valid sim with no pin lock to activate iphonewhen i slide to do the setup i proceed and do what isays to do n i keep getting activationcould not be completed is there a away to fix these issuses

I don't understand why it says this its my first iphone after the activation error comes up itbrings up start over ,or wifi settings,or cancel

Did you buy the phone new? If not you will need to contact the provider and get a new SIM.
