Has anyone experienced iOS 8 with unlocked carrier issues?

Has anyone experienced ios8 with unlocked carrier issues? I have payed the $99 last year so i can get on beta ios7 and worked great. This year i downloaded ios8 to the same phone and when it rebooted it prompted a message unsupported sim card and carrier. 3 days later apple traced issues and it was resolved with a replacement phone.
