Small Caller ID Photo. Why the change and is there a fix?

Caller ID picture is in a small circle in the upper right hand corner of the screen. This is certainly not helpful as compared to a full screen picture. Why the change, and is there a fix?

This was a change that appeared in 7.1 and can't be changed

Many complaints about it and I'm sure Apple has been notified of our displeasure
