go to conversation
click on name
scroll down to email conversation
input email address

No. the options I have are their phone numbers!
any help would be hugely appreciated.

After you tap "Email Conversation" do you get the popup for sending an email?

Launch WhatsApp and go to Settings >> Email Conversation. From the Chat History screen, select the conversation you would like to save. Decide whether you want to email the history with or without the media. Type in an email address and press Send.
