Text message lost in backup of iphone 5S- how do I get them back?

I have lost my recent text messages from my new Iphone 5S when I did the restorefrom backup. How do I get them back?

If they were iMessages or sms message via the iMessage app then you're out of luck, but if they were messages sent & received via a third party messaging app, check with that particular app's website for information about retrieving them.

No retrieving them unfortunately...if you had iMessage connected to a Macbook or iPad you'd have a back up of them, but without, you're SOL.
