iPhone 3G Value

I am looking to buy a older iPhone and keep it as a collectible. Obviously a brand new one is more valuable but would a used one mint condition have any value

Looks like a iPhone 3g on eBay is selling for $199.99

They retain very little value because they are becoming further and further obsolete when it comes to firmware updates and support. The 3G will soon be added to Apple's "death list" (AKA, the devices they no longer support in any way), so pricing on them should drop even further as this next year comes into views.
