iphone 5s phone number transfer

I am trying to transfer by iphone 4s phone number to my new iphone 5s without using itunes/icloud. I set up a new account since my old phone was tied to an ex's computer... how do i transfer my number and get started on my new 5s??? help!!!

I believe you would have to do this through your wireless carrier

Yes phreddyl is right you will need to call your carrier. The phone number and account is tied to the SIM card. So they will activate the number and account from your 4s to the new SIM in your 5C. Once the SIM in the 5C is activated it will have your old number.
