How do i become a mod?

One day when i level i want to be a mod here :/ how do i apply?

Join the community... get yourself a username and password - then establish yourself in the community via participation... answer questions... be helpful. Once you've done that - when new Mods are needed, good people are noticed by the powers that be... and there's a chance you could be asked.
