My apple tv isn't showing up in My devices in iTunes. What should I do

It's trying to pair up with my MacBook Pro, but the notebook doesn't recognize it. It's not showing up in the iTunes/MyDevices

It won't show in iTunes. Just make sure it's on the same network as your MacBook - and you're using the same AppleID on the A-TV as your iTunes on the MacBook - and you've set up HomeShare.
