why is the DCIM folder in my iPhone showing many folders?

I have iPhone 6 with latest iOS 9. I try to save my pictures to my PC by connecting to my Windows 10.

It shows folders with datestamp in 1970 instead of one folder (like how normal SD card would show).

Is this a bug? I do not want to go to each folder as it's tedious.
