I recently bought a new computer with Windows 8 home 64 bits, I guess.

There are various things that simply don't seem to work on this computer that I used a lot on the previous one including iTunes.

According to the Apple Website the latest version of iTunes (12.3.3 -64 bit version) does work in Windows 8.1. So I downloaded the file iTunes6464Setup available from Apple website. Whenever I try to install it, however, a message pops up "This app can't run on your PC. To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher" across my monitor. No further information is provided. That`s all I get.
Ive logged on as an administrator, disable antivirus (Norton) and Firewall. Right-click on this installer file shows users correctly (System account, my Login name and so on) under Properties tab. No clues about whats wrong here. This is a new desktop computer (ASUS VM62) and trying to install iTunes the first time. Any help would be appreciated. George.

    Welcome to iMore!

They way you worded this makes me think you may have a Windows 32 bit installation. Did you try installing iTunes 32 bit?
