Recently I started hearing a alert sound on my Windows machine (Windows XP). I am not positive, but I think iTunes is the source. I always have my speakers turned on since my PC is also my stereo. The alert is just a sound, nothing with it, at least as best as I can tell. So I am not positive iTunes is causing it. All I want to know, is iTunes at fault, and if it is how can I KILL this annoying and useless sound?!?

I don't recall EVER receiving an audible alert via iTunes for anything.

As time has gone by I am now almost positive iTunes is responsible for these alert sounds. I hear them when the device I am syncing is finishing. Also it seems to go off when all downloads have completed. It goes off at some other times but have yet to figure them out. May possibly be related to preordered items. I wouldn't mind them if I could have them as an option, or not go off at night as I am trying to sleep.....
