My update is stuck on" Verifying"

Druing the update, it asked for you to enter your unlock password on your watch.
Really strange.
Finally I took the watch of the charger put it on my wrist, entered the password , back on charger and then it resumed.

From what I’ve read, Apple is aware and a fix is in the works.

Yeah, $5 says the fix will be “Apple is no longer supporting this feature with touch-ID phones. Please upgrade to a face-ID phone.”

Yes, my iPhone 8 cannot unlock my watch since the update. I have to use my pass-code to unlock it.

Apple have said it only affects iPhones with Touch ID, however my iPhone 12 running iOS15 beta3 won’t unlock my watch, and it didn’t work on iOS14.7 either. My watch is on WatchOS7.6

I just noticed that my iPhone 12 on iOS 14.7 won’t unlock my Series 5 Apple Watch on watchOS 7.6.
I thought it was working fine after I updated.

So I unpaired and then re-paired my Apple Watch with my iPhone 12. Now, the unlock feature is working.

Thanks for the info, I just did a soft reset on my watch, and it’s now working too,
